Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) is located in the northeast of Nanchang and is comprised of four campus sites: Jiaoqiao, Mailu, Fenglin and Qingshan, covering a total area of 150 hectares. JUFE, founded in 1923, is under the dual leadership of the Jiangxi Provincial Education Commission and the Ministry of Finance of China. It has now been a comprehensive institution of higher learning focusing on economics and management, as well as the disciplines of law, engineering, humanities and natural science.

JUFE has 16 teaching-centered schools, 4 management-type schools, 1 independent school, and 20 research institutes. JUFE delivers 48 undergraduate programs, 99 master programs, 25 doctoral programs and 4 postdoctoral programs. Currently there are more than 40,000 students enrolled in these programs.

JUFE has 1,395 instructors, including 461 PhDs, 230 professors, 422 associate professors and 53 doctoral supervisors.

JUFE has established intercollegiate relationships with more than 75 universities and institutes from 17 countries and regions. JUFE has been very active in promoting and carrying out the exchange programs with partner institutions from all over the world. As a member of the ISEP (International Students Exchange Program) Network, JUFE set up a good platform for student exchanges.

JUFE publishes two academic magazines: Contemporary Finance & Economics (monthly) and Journal of Jiangxi University of Finance & Economics (bimonthly). Contemporary Finance & Economics is rated as one of the top 100 magazines in China and the Journal of Jiangxi University of Finance & Economics is regarded as an outstanding social science magazine.
